Beta waitlist privacy notice

toons.ooo (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates this website and its beta waitlist. This notice explains how we handle personal information when you visit the site, join the waitlist, or contact us. The product is in development; joining the waitlist lets us keep you informed about beta access.

1. Information we collect

• Waitlist details: your email address, the optional cartoon-production hurdle you select, and the time of your signup.
• Campaign and referral details: the landing-page version you see, campaign source, medium, campaign name and content tags, and the referring page, when available.
• Technical and security information: our hosting, verification and analytics providers may process your IP address, browser and device information, page visits, performance measurements, and signals used to detect automated or abusive activity.
• Correspondence: information you provide when contacting us, including a request about your personal information.

Your email address is required to join. The production-hurdle question is optional. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in correspondence.

2. How we use information

We use this information to:

• Maintain the beta waitlist and contact you when beta access or invitations become available.
• Send important toons.ooo updates related to the waitlist and product development, as described when you sign up.
• Understand creator needs, interest in the product, and which campaigns bring visitors to the waitlist.
• Operate and improve the website, prevent spam and abuse, and respond to requests.
• Meet applicable legal obligations and protect our rights and the security of the site.

Joining does not guarantee beta access or a particular launch schedule. The waitlist does not require payment.

3. Legal bases, where applicable

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on your consent for the waitlist communications you request, our legitimate interests in operating a secure website and understanding product interest where those interests are not overridden by your rights, and legal obligations where they apply. You can withdraw consent to future communications at any time using the choices below.

4. Service providers and sharing

Cloudflare hosts the website and signup endpoint, provides Turnstile spam protection, and supplies website analytics. Google Apps Script and Google Sheets receive and store the waitlist details and campaign/referral information in a private spreadsheet controlled by the site operator. These providers process information as needed to provide their services.

We do not publish your waitlist details, sell or rent the waitlist, or share it with advertisers for their own marketing. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, or investigate abuse. If the project is transferred to a new owner, waitlist records may be included, subject to applicable privacy requirements.

5. Cookies, verification and analytics

The signup form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish people from automated submissions. Cloudflare may process browser signals and use cookies or similar technologies for security and verification. Limiting these technologies in your browser may affect verification or signup.

The live website also loads Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure site visits and performance. This is separate from the campaign and referral details saved with a waitlist submission. Our own waitlist code does not set advertising cookies or store your signup details in browser storage.

6. Email choices and removal

You can leave the optional question blank and can ask us to stop waitlist communications or remove your waitlist entry at any time. Use the privacy contact near the bottom of this page, or follow any opt-out instructions included in an email from us. Requests are handled manually.

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. We may keep the minimum information necessary to respect an opt-out or meet a legal obligation.

7. How long we keep information

We keep waitlist information for as long as needed to operate the waitlist, assess product interest and manage beta invitations, unless you request earlier removal. We delete or anonymize it when it is no longer needed for these purposes. Limited records may need to be kept longer for security, legal obligations or to honor an opt-out.

Deleting an active waitlist entry may not immediately remove copies in provider backups, revision history or security logs; those copies are subject to the providers’ retention processes.

8. Security

We use HTTPS connections, restrict access to the private waitlist spreadsheet, and protect the credentials used by our signup service. We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to this early-stage waitlist, but no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure.

9. International processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Privacy laws may differ between countries. Their privacy notices describe their international processing and transfer safeguards. Applicable legal requirements govern transfers of personal information.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a relevant data-protection authority. These rights may have exceptions.

To make a request, use the contact below. We may need to verify that you control the relevant email address before acting, and we will respond as required by applicable law. Please provide only the information necessary to identify your waitlist entry and request.

11. Children

The website and waitlist are intended for adult creators and are not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review the situation and remove the information where appropriate.

12. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the website, waitlist or product develops. For material changes, we will provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
